November 9, 2025 (U.S. Eastern Time) – The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced the suspension of Section 301 investigation actions targeting China’s maritime, logistics, and shipbuilding sectors. The suspension will take effect for a period of one year, starting at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on November 10, 2025.
This decision follows the historic trade and economic agreement announced during the U.S.-China economic and trade consultations, pursuant to which the United States, under the President’s direction, will suspend the responsive measures related to this investigation for one year beginning November 10, 2025. The United States will engage in negotiations with China under Section 301 regarding the issues raised in the investigation. While these actions are in effect, the U.S. will continue discussions with key allies and partners on revitalizing the American shipbuilding industry.
