According to foreign media reports, statistics show that the Philippines has become China's second largest coconut supplier in 2020. The Philippines exported about 43000 tons of coconut products to China for the whole year, accounting for 27% of China's coconut market share. The Philippine Coconut Administration said its next goal is to become the largest coconut supplier in the Chinese market.

In 2019, Philippine coconut was approved to be exported to China, and a large number of fresh coconuts were able to enter the Chinese market. At the same time, products such as coconut water, coconut milk, coconut oil and coconut sugar from the Philippines continue to be exported to China in large quantities.

China is a major importer of coconut products, with an annual demand of 2.5 billion coconuts, mainly imported from Southeast Asian countries. Thailand is the largest country of coconut imports in China, accounting for 64.36% of the country's coconut imports in 2020.
