According to the Chilean Fruit exporters Association (ASOEX), Chile exported 737424 tons of fruit to Asia in 2020 in 2021, an increase of 16.6% over the previous year. It has set a new record for Chilean exports of fruit to the far East market in the past six years.

In the far East market, China (including Hong Kong) leads other markets with imports of 527723 tonnes, up 12.3 per cent from 2019 / 2020 and accounting for 73.5 per cent of total shipments to Asia.

The main fruits exported to the Chinese market were cherries, with a total amount of 322188 tons, an increase of 55.1 percent, followed by table grapes of 80988 tons, plums of 57861 tons, nectarines of 26378 tons, apples of 8152 tons and blueberries of 6761 tons.
