According to data released by the China Gold Association on the 28th, domestic gold consumption as a whole has recovered in the first half of the year since the third quarter, with actual gold consumption in the first three quarters of 813.59 tons, an increase of 48.44% over the same period last year and 5.89% higher than that of the same period in 2019 before the epidemic.

Of this total, the consumption of gold jewelry was 529.06 tons, and that of gold bars and coins was 214.13 tons, up 54.21% and 50.25% respectively over the same period last year.

Chinese consumers have always been enthusiastic about gold. Older consumers have higher spending power. In addition to buying gold bars and coins to preserve their value, they tend to buy gold ornaments with larger grams and more traditional ones, while young people pay more attention to the sense of design.
