Thanks to the global food price increase, Argentina exported more than 100,000 tons of dairy products in the first quarter, up 2.9% year-on-year; the export value was $394 million, up 24% year-on-year, according to Argentine newspaper "La Financiera" on April 28. Among them, milk powder accounted for 52.1%, butter and sweet milk sauce accounted for 22.5%, cheese accounted for 16.7% and yogurt and lactose accounted for 8.7%. Algeria, Brazil, Russia, Chile, China and the United States are the main exporters of dairy products, the export share of 34.6%, 16.1%, 15%, 6.5%, 3.6% and 3.6%, respectively. The report noted that in recent months, the sale of dairy products has become more "primary" due to the decline in purchasing power. People are more likely to buy regular milk than value-added products such as desserts, yogurt and cheese, a trend that has prompted the dairy industry to pay more attention to cost control and avoid price increases on consumer goods shelves.
