Uzbekistan Newspaper Network June 6, according to the U.S. State Statistics Committee data, January-April this year, U.S. food imports 1.12 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 48.9%, mainly imports of wheat, raw sugar, margarine and compound oil, meat and potatoes.

 
U.S. food imports mainly from Kazakhstan, Russia and Brazil and other countries, of which, imports from Kazakhstan accounted for 38.2% of the total food imports of U.S., Russia accounted for 25.2%, Brazil 11.3%.
 
January-April this year, U.S. imports of wheat from Kazakhstan 280 million U.S. dollars, up 46.5%, flour 37.5 million U.S. dollars, up 49.7%, edible oil 29 million U.S. dollars, up 10.7%; imports of margarine and compound oil from Russia 89.7 million U.S. dollars, up 5 times, cocoa and chocolate 29.3 million U.S. dollars, up 34.1%. Imported meat from Brazil 38.9 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 1 times.
 
In response to the sharp rise in global energy and food prices triggered by the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the President of Ukraine signed an order to exempt 22 food products from import duties from May 1, 2022 to January 1, 2023, suspend the mandatory use of Ugandan-language labeling requirements for imported food products, and lift restrictions on government procurement of imported food products.
